DunedinPACE

For this project, I partnered with researchers at Duke University to create an explainer video introducing DunedinPACE, a DNA methylation–based measure of biological aging. The challenge was translating a highly technical scientific tool into a story that felt clear, engaging, and visually dynamic.

Because only a small amount of original b-roll was available, I built the visual world primarily from carefully selected stock footage and custom animation. I structured the narrative to balance scientific accuracy with accessibility, working closely with the researchers to refine the script. To bring abstract concepts—like methylation, biomarkers, and “biological vs. chronological age”—to life, I designed simple, clean animations that complemented the voiceover without overwhelming it.

The end result is a video that makes cutting-edge science approachable, giving viewers a window into the future of aging research while showcasing how visual storytelling can bridge the gap between complex data and public understanding.
